244 Linden was built in 1910 by contractors Lueke and Bopp for Frank Hamsher.  This one-of-a-kind home is part of the Linden-Kingsbury Historic District.  The very tall gabled roof of this house, descending to shelter the front veranda, was built in the particularly American style that has come to be called the Shingle Style such as the 1887 Low House in Bristol, Rhode Island.
